Wishing You Merry Christmas Card
Seasons greetings with personalized Christmas cards from Shutterfly.
View the entire collection of cards.

So here is my Christmas card this year! What do you think??? Special thanks to Nancy Jo Photography who took the pictures for us one rainy afternoon at the Club. She is wonderful to work with and very quick with getting our proofs back to us. We were able to get the CD and the copyright release the same day that we ordered the pictures! How cool is that???

Also, special thanks to Shutterfly. These cards were VERY easy to make. And they have a huge selection from which to choose!

One chapter ends as a new one begins

Yesterday was the first day of school. Not just any first day, but the first day of school for my last born child. This means that I will not go through this again....sad, yes, but happy as well. Happy because look at this face!

With him going to school, that means he is no longer in day care. The Lord truly blessed me and K with two wonderful people to take care of him. They became Nannie and Joe Joe. Yes, you guessed it, they became another set of grandparents. I had a difficult time yesterday picking him up. I wished that it didn't have to end but then again, I know he must go to school. Nannie and Joe Joe were absolutely wonderful to him. They fed him well and loved on him like no one else has, well, except for me and K, of course. I will forever be grateful for the time that he has had with them. They have helped to mold him into the 40 year old midget that he is! But now, he must go to school with his big sister, who actually did wear shoes to school today, although you couldn't tell it in this picture!
Happy first day of school for my Third grader and my Pre-K babies!

Funny things the kids are saying

My kids never cease to make me laugh! Andrew is at the age now that he repeats things the way that he hears them. Allison did the same thing when she was little and it is absolutely hysterical! Allison, when she was probably Andrew's age (4) used to call Walmart Malwart. For some reason, that is what she heard!
The other night, Andrew announced to me that he wished we would have sat on the front row at the Imagination Movers concert that we attended in May. When asked why, he said "So I could catch Dave's nika red hat." Huh??? Upon further thought, I realized that is what he hears in the introduction song of the imagination movers. They say, when introducing the characters, "Dave's over here underneath the red hat." Oh, so that is what he hears - "Dave's over here under nika red hat." Too funny!!!

Blessings

I teach TeamKid Fifth graders at church on Wednesday night. It is difficult....very difficult. They are roudy and wild most Wednesday nights. So I just totally dread going most nights. I am tired after a long day and I really just want them to listen, soak in the Gospel. But they don't. Or so I thought.

This past Wednesday night, I had to teach by myself. One of my teachers was sick, the other cooking the Wed. night dinner. Needless to say, my attitude was less than joyful about the adventure. But the Lord convicted me early on with the lesson title "Being a Leader." And I had to lead. So I pulled up my big girl panties and put on a happy face. Then the Lord blessed me. I don't know why He did with my unhappy heart that I had BUT He did.

We began talking about being a Christian and about how others look at the way we act, talk, etc. Then my kids started asking questions about being a Christian and being saved. THEN IT happened! I had two children tell me that they wanted to be saved! How AWESOME! I just can't explain my joy. So we went through the Roman Road and both of those children prayed to receive Christ into their hearts. Oh Happy Day! I just had to clap and give the Lord some praise for that one! Praise Him that two more souls will be with us in heaven!

First

So here is a first for me as a mom of 7 1/2 years - stitches!

Yes! 3 stitches to my little man. He is fine and I am fine....thankfully. He did great at the hospital. He sat there and let them put those stitches in his head. I was holding him which I did fine until he started squirming while the doc was sewing him up. Now that was difficult for me. I tried to keep it together while watching the doctor fishhook those stitches in his head. Man, that was tough. Hopefully, the scar will not be too bad...and I am sure, this is one of many! HA! I pray not, but know that he is all boy!

Here is his pitiful look!!!

He is still beautiful even with three stitches in his head!

Big A

So, Big A's reading level for this 9 weeks is 2.6-3.8 and she has to get 11.5 points to reach her AR goal. I am not a big fan of AR but it does get her to read when she really doesn't like to read so much. So for that, I am grateful for AR. But it is a pain to have to constantly push her to read. Sometimes I wonder, will this make her not like to read as much when she is constantly being told to read a book! Who knows. I guess time will tell!
